My name is Nathan D. Gibson. I often go by Nate Gibson. It's just shorter and easier to say. As my friend Preacher Jack once explained, "Nate Gibson is such a great name! It's like Hank Williams, but it's Nate Gibson."

The following is a brief summary of the important events that have shaped my life. I was born in St. Louis, MO. The scent of dog food and beer permeated the city where I saw my first baseball game, rode my first bicycle and discovered the magic of static electricity. My family moved to Garden City, Kansas when I was seven. My favorite baseball player at the time was Andy Van Slyke. I can't recall what type of music I most enjoyed, but I remember a mix of my father's operatic voice overpowering Richard Simmons' Sweatin' to the Oldies as a frequent backdrop in our home.
